Comodo AntiSpam - Overview

Friendly interface provides centralized control for all antispam configuration
Comodo AntiSpam is an intuitive, easy-to-use, client-based software product that eliminates spam forever from your computer's email system. It uses 'Passcode Authentication' technology, a patent-pending, active-filtering algorithm, to authenticate the sender of each incoming email message. Comodo AntiSpam works with all current Windows operating systems and supports email programs such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora, Netscape or any other POP3 email application. Comodo AntiSpam is guaranteed to eliminate all spam from your computer.
Passcode authentication is the Solution
Comodo Anti Spam uses an 'Anti Spam Passcode' to authenticate senders sending you email. Requests to 'get-mail' generated by your email client are intercepted by Comodo AntiSpam running on your computer. It then gets the mail from the server and authenticates the sender of each message. If the sender of a particular message is already 'allowed', the message is immediately passed to your inbox. If the sender of a particular message is already 'blocked', the message is either immediately deleted or is stored in the Quarantine Database (QDB) for a prescribed period of time, whichever you choose.
If the sender of a particular message is 'unknown', the message is temporarily stored in the Quarantine Database and a special AntiSpam Alert (ASA) message is automatically sent back to the sender. The ASA message includes your Anti Spam Passcode in the form of a graphical attachment.
The ASA message asks the sender to reply and type in their AntiSpam Passcode in the body of the reply. The idea behind sending the AntiSpam Passcode as a graphic is to require a human to read the passcode and then type it in the reply. Since spammers use computers to automate the delivery of bulk junk email, they cannot reply correctly to ASA messages. When an ASA reply is received by Comodo AntiSpam, and the passcode is found to be correct, the original email message is immediately passed to your inbox and an entry is made into your Authentication Database (ADB) 'allowing' all subsequent email from that particular sender.
If the AntiSpam Alert reply is found to contain an incorrect passcode, the process is repeated for a configurable number of authentication attempts. If no reply is received, or if an incorrect reply persists, the sender is simply 'ignored' and the message is eventually deleted.
If a sender is particularly annoying and appears frequently in your Quarantine Database, that sender's address - or the sender's entire domain - can be manually 'blocked' using the control buttons available in the QDB viewer. This viewer can also be used to manually 'allow' sender addresses or entire domains, if desired.
